DescriptionThe beardless male head wears a wreath of laurel leaves. Each leaf is attached to a fillet that continues in back. The youth’s hair is articulated in checkerboard fashion, the rounded mass partitioned into three rows and divided vertically. The crown and back of the head are flat, where the hair is rendered simply by grooves. In back, below the wreath, the checkerboard hair pattern continues to the nape of the neck. The ears are fairly detailed, but not hollowed out.
