DescriptionThe Ackland frog is a wonderful example of naturalism in ancient art. Depiction of the body is lifelike, including the bulbous eyes and folded legs. The head and tail are raised, and so the weight rests entirely on the body. The surface is smoothly polished. The body has a suspension hole, running through the width of the body.Surface has minor pitting and abrasions. The metal pin inserted in the suspension hole is modern. Hematite (iron oxide).
