DescriptionMale figure, complete, missing base. Surface pitted, especially on back. Bronze, solid cast, with green and red patina. Natural bronze shows on right side of face, sections of torso and rear foot. Right thigh scraped. Male figure striding forward, his weight resting on the right, rear leg. The warrior stance and raised arms suggest that the figure held a spear in the raised right hand and a shield on the left arm. The figure wears a tall helmet or headdress that has punch marks on the front. The head slopes backward; the face is turned somewhat to left. The features are simplified: the eyes form depressions, full lips are outlined, and the chin is articulated. Proportions are elongated, and rounded forms contrast with pinched hands. Tenons beneath the feet would have attached the figure to a base.
