DescriptionThe nude Eros, from an earring or pendant, appears to fly from or alight on the ground. The Eros has a child’s proportions, long ringlets, and fleshy body. He looks up to his right, balancing on his toes; his upper torso twists to right, his lower to left, the right ankle crossing the left. His right arm is raised to hold a tiny object on his fingertips; his left arm is also sharply bent upward. The wing is divided into seven carefully detailed long feathers. Marks remain from the attachment of the missing right wing and of a hook on the head.
