DescriptionThis tureen stand is decorated with a central battle scene adapted from engravings after Georg Philipp Rugendas (1666-1742), within an elaborate gilt border. Four riverscapes in puce monochrome decorate the edge. To either side of the stand are two molded scallop handles in high relief. The reverse of the stand has bold flower sprays of rose, fritillaria, and sweet pea.
