DescriptionAlabastron with flat rim, single, pierced-lug handle.
Alternating red and black tongues on top of rim. Black tongue on handle; black dots on rim, tongues on neck and bottom. A pair of confronting lions flank a bird. The lions stand with opened mouths, exposed tongues, and heavy incision for manes. The bird faces right, its head turned to left. Lions touch at the nose and nearly meet at tail and hind feet. Five incised blob rosettes in the field. Red appears on the lions’ tongues, shoulders, flanks, and rear legs, as well as bird’s head, breast.
