DescriptionThis shape is typical of Corinthian alabastra. Payne considers the banded decoration characteristic of the Early Corinthian period and dates the style circa 600 BCE. The vessel falls into his category of C alabastra, small vessels with little or no incision work and no figural work, decorated instead with concentric circles and tongues.
