DescriptionIn an interior draped with green, a bearded, turbaned man kneels on a carpet among four kneeling women before Cupid, who stands at left in an altar-like pedestal with bow drawn and pointing to the central group. Around the altar are dark-skinned attendants, some with laurel headdresses; others, behind the central group, wear oriental headdresses. Three hold heavy columns with insence burners. In the foreground flowers and a variety of gold and silver vessels are scattered. At right a larger covered vessel with two handles and a winged sphinx decoration. At right, gray masonry and a view of trees and sky through an arch.On View
