DescriptionThis composite figure, which stands on a tall base, combines a man’s body with a goat’s hairy legs and hooves. Although the bearded head is mostly human, it has the pointed ears, broad nose, and horns that characterize the Greek god, Pan. The figure wears a short cloak over the left shoulder, leaving the torso bare, and holds a pedum (a short club) in his left hand, the right arm hangs by his side.
