DescriptionThe vessel has the shape of a four-legged animal, its wheel-made body having a handmade neck. The tubular pouring spout, likely formed over a long cylindrical object, forms the head and mouth of the animal. A wide-neck opening rises from the back braced by a handle that connects to the hindquarter. The handle is attached to mid-neck and shoulder. The animal’s features are generalized with large, round eyes, a long nose with blunt end, a huge ovoid body, and four tiny feet. The small ridge on the head contrasts with the swelling body.
