Season's Greetings
Sunday, November 15, 1998 - Sunday, January 17, 1999
This was the sixth year that the Ackland Art Museum greeted the holiday season by displaying a miniature house constructed by Gordon Rutherford. This year the museum surrounded the house with additional holiday greetings--a selection of prints and drawings, most of which were made by artists as greetings to their friends. Some of these artists' greetings were sent to the New York collector Burton Emmett; others were sent or received by the North Carolina illustrator William Meade Prince.
